Williamsburg Septr 17 1803

D Sir

I enclose you a few accts which it is probable you
may have an opportunity of collecting for me — the money
has been long due me and would really be of service to me
now more than ever. I can not get money for some time
except from those persons for whom I have done Busi-
ness and for which none of them can refuse to pay.
The memorandum marked "Peasley's [Trustees] &c" if
Shewn to Capt Tabb, Capt Hall, & Major Whiting will
be attended to certainly. They were the gentlemen who
were commissioners & knew how the Business was done.

Mr George Catlett can not hesitate one moment
to pay the eight Dollars — it is little enough for my
writing, and little enough certainly for what it
saved him — this Business I did for him two years ago &
he proposed the sum of eight dollars himself

I have got but half of my things from Norfolk, when they
come I shall send over some to you — in the mean time
when you are in want write to me, and small supplies
may be had from hence tho' I am very much afraid
of getting things in this place until I can get some
money. We shall want a gallon or two of Tar here
for four Wheels . send me word how every thing
goes on.

I am your obt Serv &c
